About Programme

Our department is established within Istanbul Gedik University as Electronics Engineering in 2013. Scope of the department is extended and changed as Electrical and Electronics Engineering in this context in 2015. The main goal of this change is to educate our students in such a way that they administer in academic and industrial fields when they graduate. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is such an engineering field that is continuously developing, expanding its application area and incorporating new technologies. It involves fields like electronics, computer systems, mobile communication, power systems, medical engineering and information systems.

History
Our department which is started its education and research activities as Electronics Engineering in 2013-2014 period within Engineering Faculty, continues its activites as Electrical and Electronics Engineering since 2015-2016 period.
Qualification Awarded
Students who complete their four year undergraduate education successfully, graduate with Electrical and Electronics Engineer title.
Admission Requirements
Students who have high school diploma and have enough score in TYT and AYT exams, which are carried out by Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi (ÖSYM), are accepted to the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. Besides, students who gain vertical tranfer (for ones who have an associate degree) or undergraduate transfer right (for the students of other Electrical and Electronics engineering departments) can also enroll in. Foreign national students are accepted according to the results of YÖS exam which is also carried out by Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi (ÖSYM).
Higher Grade Transition
Students who complete their four year undergraduate education successfully are accepted according to Master Degree acception terms which are determined by Institutes of Science and Technology within Universities.
Graduation Requirements
Students who complete all of the lessons in the programme (240 ECTS in total), gain 2.00 of 4.00 as grade point average and who complete their internship (40 work-days), get the bachelor's degree.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department have national and international working opportunities in state and private sectors. Primary working fields are power generation, transmission, distribution, electrical machines, industrial automation and control systems, communication technologies, electronic device design, computer hardware and software. Working activities contains planning, executing, tracking, protection, control, economy management, data process, data transfer, data storage and system design.
Assessment and Grading
Students take at least two examinations for every lesson they enroll: mid-term and final exams. Conclusive successes of the students are evaluated according to Istanbul Gedik University Educational Regulations.
