Objectives of the Course Each student knows, comprehends, applies and evaluates the six Course Critical Subjects by integrating all.v
Course Content The course aims to present a comprehensive panorama of public international law, which covers principles and rules that govern the relations between States and their interactions with other international actors. The course is designed to give students a global understanding of the rules governing international relations and, ultimately, provide them with practical skills in legal reasoning and arguing, research and writing on international issues. The course will address the structure and operational mechanism of international legal system, which is essential to understanding international cooperation in various forms. Particular reference will be made to multitudes of contemporary problems of international concern and their legal aspects.

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Determine the territorial, maritime and aerial limits of jurisdiction of States.
2 Acknowledge diplomatic and legal means of international dispute settlement; apprehend Negotiation, Good Offices, Mediation, Inquiry, Conciliation, Arbitration and the Law and Procedure of the International Court of Justice.
3 Understand the scope and legal nature of the international prohibition of use of force and its exceptions in UN Charter.
4 Have an apprehension of the international regulations to limit the effects of intenational armed conflicts, to protect civilians and to restrict the means and methods of warfare, Recognize the most serious atrocities and conducts against international humanitarian law, understand the criminal responsability of individuals and apprehend the jurisdiction, rules and procedures of International Criminal Court.
5 Have an apprehension of the cathegories, effects, conclusion, making reservation, entry into force and termination of Treaties.
6 Have an introduction to international human rights, economic and environmental law.
