Objectives of the Course To gain knowledge and skills about electric motors and drive systems.
Course Content Introduction to Electric Motors. DC Motors and working principles. DC Motors making. Speed control of DC Motors and examples. Direct current engines, mechanical power, losses, efficiency, examples. Brushless direct current motors and collectorless. Three-phase Induction Motors. Measurement of velocity slip and the transfer of asynchronous motors. The motor drive systems. One-phase and three-phase half-wave diode, thyristor drives, converters, inverter systems. One-phase and three-phase half-wave diode, thyristor drives, converters, inverter systems
