Objectives of the Course In the production workshop, following the occupational health and safety rules, using the lathe, turning the screws in accordance with the standards and performing special turning operations and using the milling machine to use the lathe, grooving, drilling competencies.

Course Content Machining and chipless manufacturing methods. Hand tools used in manufacturing, files, reamer, guide, die sets, drills, drill benches. Shapers and planers. Application of basic operations. Introduction of Conventional, NC, CNS Machine tools. Machining theory, factors affecting chip removal. Tool life. Machinability.
Turning technique: Introducing the lathe and its equipment. Cutter and clamping apparatus used in lathe. Tool geometry, cutting forces, speed, feed, cutting speed, machining time and machine power calculations in the lathe. Types of operation on the lathe.
Milling technique: Milling machines, areas of use. Cutter and clamping apparatus used in milling machines. Milling operation types. Dividers and apparatus. Partition operations. Gear wheels. Calculations of feed in milling, cutting speed, machining time and machine power.
Grinding technique: Grinding and tool sharpening machines. Emery stones. Stone selection. Types of grinding and tool sharpening operations. Calculations of the number of revolutions, cutting speed, feed and machining time related to grinding.
Fine surface treatment techniques: honing, lapping and blasting. Precision surface acquisition processes.
Different manufacturing techniques: Volume molding techniques. Foundry. Model, core and mold preparation. Casting methods. Methods of molding plastics. Hot and cold forming of metals. Production of parts by powder metallurgy method and powder metallurgy techniques.
Unconventional manufacturing techniques: Plunge and wire erosion, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, chemical processing.
Welding technique: Production of welding tools and tools. Welding definition, types, application areas and comparison with other manufacturing methods, comparison, introduction and maintenance of tools and equipment standards used in oxy-gas and electric arc welding. Solder definition and types. Introducing the basic processes of oxy-gas electric arc and resistance welding and welding joints at different positions. Demonstrating examples of soldered and welded connections in different metals. Sub-gas welding methods
