Objectives of the Course The main objective of this course is to handle social events and phenomena according to sociological point of view, to understand them and to re-understand them from a critical perspective. It is also another goal to gain a sociological perspective to examine concepts and ideas, interpret and evaluate data, and to identify local and global issues with the interaction of sociology with all other disciplines. Ultimately, the acquisition of the viewpoint of the student's ability to handle developments in his / her field through different methods by acquiring the interdisciplinary point of view of sociology will also be one of the practical purposes of the course.
Course Content The course will focus on the definition of sociology as a scientific discipline, sociological perspectives, theoretical approaches dominated by sociology, social interaction, tribulation, class, poverty and exclusion, global inequality, race, ethnicity, migration, religion in modern societies, economic life, politics, cities, environment and risk.
