Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to teach students the pharmacology required for health-related undergraduate branches other than medical education.
Course Content Principles of pharmacology, fundamental drug categories, drug equivalencies, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug administration routes , absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, mechanisms of action, factors that change the effect of drugs, interaction between drugs, adverse drug reactions and side effects, toxic effects of drugs and basic concept of toxicology, use of drugs in pregnancy and breastfeeding, drug use in pediatric diseases, drug use in the elderly, cardiovascular system drugs, respiratory system drugs, central nervous system drugs, analgesics, NSAIDs, opioids and hormonal drugs.
