Objectives of the Course
|
To enable the student to gain basic knowledge of basic cellular physiological concepts, blood structure, cardiovascular system physiology, respiratory system physiology, endocrine system physiology, sensory physiology, muscle physiology and nervous system physiology.

Course Content
|
Structure of blood, blood cells, biochemical analysis of blood, abbreviations of blood analysis parameters, diseases and effects on parameters in blood analysis, cardiovascular system physiology, respiratory system physiology, central nervous system: brain, cerebrospinal fluid, spinal cord, reflexes, peripheral nerve system (cranial nerves, spinal nerves, plexus concept, dermatomes), autonomic nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems), pain physiology and sleep (pain types, pain pathways, specific pain forms, EEG, sleep disorders), sensory physiology (skin sensory receptors, vision, visual pathways, accommodation, pupillary reflex, hearing and balance, corti organ, vestibular system, sense of smell, sense of taste), muscle physiology (skeletal muscle, motor unit, neuromuscular conduction, muscle fiber types, types of muscle contraction , nervous control of movement, reflex, smooth muscle, muscle contraction mechanism), digestive system and urinary system physiology and endocrine system physiology
