Objectives of the Course To learn nutrition problems, causes and solution ways of groups with characteristics in society
Course Content Nutritional problems and epidemiology in Turkey and in the world, protein-energy malnutrition, obesity, diet-related chronic diseases, iron deficiency anemia, iodine deficiency diseases, dental caries, zinc deficiency, rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, vitamin deficiencies, folic acid deficiency etc. . and its epidemiology, nutritional supplements and fortification, national food and nutrition plans and policies

1 Learns the nutritional problems seen in the society, the causes of the problems, understands the importance and learns about the solutions. Learns epidemiological concepts.
2 Learns how to evaluate an epidemiological study.
3 Learns the epidemiology of protein-energy malnutrition and growth monitoring in Turkey and in the world.
4 Learns the epidemiology of obesity and diet-related chronic diseases and evaluates and interprets nutrition policies.
5 Learns vitamin and mineral deficiencies and their epidemiology, understands their importance and learns about solutions.
6 Gains knowledge about nutrient enrichment and nutritional supplements applications.
7 Gain knowledge about the creation and implementation of food and nutrition policies in Turkey and in the world.
