Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to have the knowledge about importance of human milk and maternal-child nutrition, physiological needs of lactation and pregnancy, energy requirements during pregnancy and lactation, basic principles of nutrition in infants, pre-school children, school term children and adolescent.
Course Content Importance of maternal and child nutrition in the world and in Turkey, physiological changes in pregnancy and lactation, problems and nutritional needs, 0-1 year old baby nutrition, breast milk, complementary feeding and infant formulas, 1-3 year old children (toddler) and 3-5 Characteristics of children in the age group (preschool/nursery), energy and nutrient requirements, characteristics of 6-12 age group children (school age), energy and nutrient requirements, adolescent characteristics, energy and nutrient requirements, nutritional and nutritional needs of children and adolescents. related problems, solutions and diet therapy

4 Gains information about the importance and sources of energy and macronutrients and micronutrients in this period.
5 Learns the problems related to nutrition in these periods and can develop solutions.
6 Gains information about the composition and benefits of breast milk and gives training on its promotion.
7 Gains information about the types, contents and properties of formulas used in infancy.
8 Gains information about the time to start complementary feeding and complementary foods that should be started according to months.
