Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to provide the necessary information about first aid.
Course Content Introduction to first aid, definitions, basic life support, first aid in case of bleeding and shock, first aid for injuries, first aid for burns, frostbite and heat stroke, first aid in fractures, dislocations and sprains, first aid in disorders of consciousness, first aid in poisoning, first aid in animal bites and insect bites, first aid for foreign object in eyes, ear, nose, first aid in drowning, patient transportation methods, environmental problems, first aid in disasters

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Explain the definition, importance, goals and principles of first aid, basic life support and applications.
2 Knows the main structures and functions of human body systems, understands the concept of first aid and circumtances for first aid.
3 Can apply first aid in case of bleeding, shock, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, bone and soft tissue injuries, burns and frosbites, poisoning and animal and insect bites, foreign objects in the body, drowning etc.
4 Explain contact-transmitted diseases, their symptoms and prevention methods.
5 Knows patient transportation methods.
