Objectives of the Course
|
To enable the student to identify the material in school projects and professional practices consciously by introducing in detail the characteristics of all the materials used in the architectural profession in the exterior and interior spaces of the buildings and in the environmental regulations.

Course Content
|
In this course; natural stones, artificial stones, plaster, ceramic, glass, metal, natural wood, artificial wood and plastic materials are handled separately and in detail.
By description of each material; types, physical and chemical properties, heat, water and sound permeability, shaping methods, surface treatments and usage areas are explained.
In addition, visual examples of applications for which competent designers have made with these materials are interpreted by showing them to the students. Thus, it is aimed to establish conscious approach of the learners to the material in architecture by establishing the character, features, shaping method and design relation of each material.
