Objectives of the Course This course focuses on the meaning of play in the field of psychotherapy and different play therapy techniques. Students acquire basic therapeutic knowledge and approaches to a variety of childhood problems. In addition, they learn to make basic case discussions and to design games according to the psychological needs of children.
Course Content History of Play Therapy, Evaluation and Therapeutic Use of Play, Basic Concepts and Principles of Play Therapy, Basic Elements in Play Therapy, Approaches to Play Therapy, Ways to Begin Play Therapy, Types of Play Therapy, Basic Principles of Directed Play Therapy, Basic Principles of Non-directed Play Therapy, Behavioral Play Therapies and Practices, Communication with Children During Play Therapy, Group Play Therapy and Practices, Play Therapy in School Environment, Case Studies, “Dance and Movement” Practices in Play Therapy
