Objectives of the Course The aim of the course is to provide an understanding of basic concepts and methods related to furniture design process and stages. It aims to gain knowledge by examining the shape, material and manufacturing properties of modern furniture and to teach the roles, responsibilities and contributions of design and designers in the furniture design process.
Course Content Introduction to modern furniture design: Basics of design and human perception. Furniture technology: Balance and durability in furniture. Materials, production details, current manufacturing methods. Design methods and approaches: Investigation of successful furniture design projects as a case study. Current trends and trendsetters in furniture design: Furniture designers. The future of furniture design: Project development for the future of furniture design.
