Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is; Incorporating energy-efficient and environmentally friendly design practices into the architectural design process in order to raise students' awareness about ecology and sustainability, to enable them to understand the relationship of sustainable designs and plans with ecology, to reduce the consumption of energy resources on the earth and environmental pollution, by introducing physical environmental data and providing interior spaces according to these data. determining the required features, using passive-active energy systems in designs that affect building energy performance, and introducing alternative energy uses.
Course Content Ecology and sustainability concepts, human health, natural environmental resources, interaction of construction and environmental problems, physical environment data, ecological and sustainable design principles, effects of designs on energy use, inclusion of energy efficiency measures in designs, energy efficient interior technologies constitute the content of the course.
Course Methods and Techniques Explaining theoretical information compiled from sources by supporting it with examples.
Reinforcing course topics with research assignments.
