Objectives of the Course
|
To show students the place of furniture design in the socio-cultural development of society; to examine the relationship between ergonomics, function and aesthetics in furniture design; The aim of this course is to give the technical information about material selection and structure construction and to gain the ability to design by considering human-environment health.

Course Content
|
In this course, furniture style, color, material, construction technique is examined briefly in the historical process and ergonomic, functional and aesthetic factors affecting the design are explained. Intellectual formation, material selection, detailing and production processes in furniture design are theoretically explained. Sustainable furniture principles respecting nature and people are discussed. It is essential that students learn by applying this course. In this context, he teaches the first idea sketches of a furniture, the development of the design, the presentation and the production process of the technique.
