Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 will be able to understand the factors that caused the Turkish War of Independence. 2 Understands and discusses the reasons that led to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. 3 Becomes aware of the current conditions on the way to the liberation struggle 4 Learns the preparations made for the National Struggle. 5 Learns the foundation stages of the Republic of Turkey after the War of Independence. 6 Understands the establishment conditions of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the supreme organ that uses national sovereignty on behalf of the Turkish Nation. 7 Absorbs the benefits of the Treaty of Lausanne, which is the basis of the existence of the Republic of Turkey in the international arena. 8 Understands that the form of state that best realizes national sovereignty is a secular and democratic republic. 9 Realizes the conditions and the way of formation of the Turkish Revolution. 10 Absorb the philosophy, spirit and purpose of the Turkish Revolution. 11 Learns and understands Atatürk's principles and revolutions. 12 They comprehend how colonial societies gained their independence based on the example of the Turkish War of Independence
