Dersin Amacı
|
This course has three main objectives: (a) to summarize major alternative approaches to world politics; (b) to explore some of the central issues, themes, debates in world politics, and (c) to discuss critically the contemporary issues, opportunities and challenges in world politics.

Dersin İçeriği
|
After an introduction to major theoretical perspectives to world politics (liberal, mercantilist, structuralist, and constructivist approaches), some of the major issues of world politics, such as world order, global political economy, national and global security, geopolitics and war, international norms and institutions, sovereignty, migration and citizenship, democratic backsliding, global climate warming, will be explored. Students will be encouraged to participate and critically engage in class discussions, offering contesting views on the issues and themes.
