Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to teach students the basic concepts and technologies related to databases and to provide them with the knowledge and skills to design, implement and manage database systems.
Course Content The database management systems course will teach students the fundamentals of databases and provide an in-depth understanding of the relational data model, SQL queries, database design and management. This course teaches students how database systems work, how databases are created, updated and queried, while also addressing important issues such as data integrity, security and performance optimization.
Students will develop their database management skills by practicing with examples based on real-world scenarios. In addition, this course will partly follow Project Based Learning (PBL). Each student will do a project on a different topic. Students will be assigned projects from a project list. Projects will be done alone.
