Objectives of the Course Within the scope of this course, it is aimed to teach students the concept of consumer, the sources and the scope of consumer law and its relation with other branches of law; to raise awareness on the rights of the consumer due to defective goods and services, liability for damages caused by defective goods, protection of the consumer against deceptive advertisements, protection of the consumer in consumer loans within the scope of the Law on the Protection of the Consumer; to introduce consumer transactions such as door step and distant sales, contracts with campaigns and promotions, subscription contracts, contracts for holiday purposes; to provide information about solutions to consumer problems, application processes to consumer organisations, consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts.
Course Content Within the scope of this course, awareness will be raised by giving basic information about the legal basis of consumer protection.
