Objectives of the Course
|
The aim of this course is to concretize the general information obtained in the course titled Constitutional Law 1 (General Principles of Constitutional Law) given in the previous semester, in connection with the Ottoman-Turkish Constitutions, with the emphasis on the constitutional order in force, and thus the students learn our constitutional order in relation to the historical development line, and they gain the ability to interpret the constitutional developments in the country.

Course Content
|
In this course, the basic features of the Ottoman Empire, the important steps taken in the direction of the Constitution, the Law Esasi period, the process of development of the Republican Constitutions after the innovations brought by the 1909 Constitution will be discussed, in this context, the general characteristics of the 1921, 1924 and 1961 Constitutions will be discussed. Subsequent courses will deal with the developments and changes between the original text of the current Constitution and the stage it has reached today. In this context, the main axis of the course will be in connection with the current constitutional order.
