Objectives of the Course
|
To introduce basic concepts of psychology, to gain insight about human behavior. Within the scope of the introduction to psychology, categories such as psychological development, perception and consciousness, learning, memory and thinking, personality sensation and emotions, mental health and social psychology are covered from the scientific and academic point of view. A historical perspective is presented from the past to today's psychology.

Course Content
|
This course aims at acquainting new students with the basic concepts and terminology of Psychology; while providing an introduction to experimental psychology as a natural science. The course includes an overall review of the historical roots of psychology. Topics covered include the function and structure of the nervous system, sensation and perception, consciousness, attention, sleep, and learning and memory.
