Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to inform students about the concepts of individual and mass trauma, current changes in the perspective on trauma, and an overview of trauma-focused psychotherapy approaches.

Course Content This lesson; 1. Basic concepts in trauma,
2.History of trauma psychology from past to present 3.Risk factors and protective factors in trauma,
4. Introduction to basic concepts in trauma,
5.Early and long-term effects of trauma 6.Traumatic stress reactions seen in adults
7.Traumatic stress reactions seen in children and adolescents,
8. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Diagnostic features and variation across DSM's,
9. Other disorders related to trauma and traumatic stress,
10.Current treatment approaches in psychological traumas 11.Secondary traumatic stress and related concepts,
12. Includes Psychological First Aid topics.
