1 Toplumsal bir öğe olarak medya ve buna bağlı medya okuryazarlığına dair bilgi edinir.
2 Medya okuryazarlığının temel ilkeleri üzerinden medyanın tanımı, medya türleri ve medya türlerine dahil olan tüm araçları birbirinden ayırıp ilgili kategori altında sınıflandırma becerisi kazanır.
3 Medya sahipliği kavramını tanımlayıp medyanın propaganda ve ikna konusundaki önemini kavrar.
4 Medya ve kültür ilişkisini temsil, çeşitlilik, ayrımcılık ve önyargılar kavramları üzerinden değerlendirebilir.
5 Medyanın etik kullanımını, medyadaki etik ihlalleri ve medyadaki ahlaklı davranışını kavrar.
