Objectives of the Course Understanding of casting as a metal manufacturing method, gaining compherensive knowlwdge in casting processes and advantageous/disadvantageous way of each processes. Understanding of melting, cooling and solidification behaviours of metals and alloys. Gaining designing skill of mold filling, feding, cooling and solidification with sand casting and permanent mold casting processes. Gaining ability of molding design using casting simulation techniques.

5 Makes comments on how to achieve dimentional control in casting processes
6 Makes comments on how to achieve microstructural and performance control on cast cast parts
7 Knowledge on principals of molding design in casting processes. Knowledge on principles of computer aided molding and casting simulations.
