Objectives of the Course To give basic concepts about the properties and behavior of fluids.
Course Content Introduction to the properties of fluids; pressure; hydrostatic; pressure forces acting on various surfaces; flow in pipes; momentum equation; laminar and turbulent flow; friction losses; local load losses; flow in series and parallel connected pipes; pipe networks; Pumps; flow in open channels; specific energy; flow through weirs; includes groundwater flow issues.
