Objectives of the Course
To equip students with the ability to make efficient decisions in transportation management.
Course Content To put forward the loading information, workflow, costs, pricing, organizational issues and management about the road, air, sea, rail and combined transport, in order to be exercised in harmony and integrated with other logistics activities,
2. To explain the common transport policy of European Union and transport policy of Turkey in order to clarify the interaction between transport systems and economic development,
3. To analyze the transportation problems and determine the method of solution encountered in logistics organizations in order to achieve an efficient transportation management,
4. With the help of linear programming to gain the ability of obtaining algorithm for transport models and to form the mathematical model of transportation problems
5. To analyze and interpret the outputs of transportation model.
Course Methods and Techniques The course is conducted face-to-face, and the medium of language is English. Students are expected to take one midterm and one final exam, as well as submit one assignment in order to successfully complete the course
