Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to concretize the general information obtained in the course titled Constitutional Law 1 (General Principles of Constitutional Law) given in the previous semester, in connection with the
Ottoman-Turkish Constitutions, with the emphasis on the constitutional order in force, and thus the students learn our constitutional order in relation to the historical development line, and they gain the ability
to interpret the constitutional developments in the country.
Course Content In this course, after covering the basic features of the Ottoman Empire, the important steps taken towards the Constitution, the Basic Law period, the innovations brought by the 1909 Constitution, the
development process of the Republic Constitutions will be discussed, and in this context, the general characteristics of the 1021, 1924 and 1961 Constitutions will be emphasized. In subsequent lessons, the
developments and changes between the original text of the current Constitution and the stage it has reached today will be discussed. Within the scope of the course; The characteristics of the Republic, the
regime of limitation of fundamental rights and freedoms, the formation and functioning of the legislative, executive and judicial bodies and constitutional jurisdiction will be discussed.
