Course Content
|
Sports law is a sui generis field that attracts the most attention today and is in close relationship with many legal disciplines, but also contains many unique concepts. With this course, the unique structure and regulatory areas of sports law, which intersects with other fields of law, are evaluated. Accordingly, after mentioning the basic concepts of sports law, the right to sports, the structuring of sports in the world and in Turkey, the structure of sports clubs, and also the disciplinary structure in sports are explained. In addition, criminal liability and sports crimes arising from sports activities, anti-doping, transfer rules and athlete contracts are conveyed to students in the context of both legal regulations and practice. Newly developing areas such as electronic sports that have not yet been covered in a theoretical context are also within the scope of the course. Additionally, the subjects of the course include the functioning of the legal boards of international sports federations and the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). In certain courses of the semester, discussion lessons are held in order to reason and evaluate the topics explained together, and one week (2 lessons) is taught as a fictional case study in the context of pre-distributed roles and subject.
