Objectives of the Course It is aimed for students to gain knowledge and skills about wound and stoma care, roles and responsibilities of the nurse in this area in line with evidence-based sources and updated guidelines.
Course Content This course includes the structure of the skin, the definition of the wound, the phases of wound healing and the factors affecting wound healing, wound evaluation, wound care and treatment, prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, vascular leg wound physiopathology, treatment and care, diabetic foot physiopathology, prevention strategies and nursing care. includes stoma and care, wound care products and the right product selection specific to the wound, treatment alternatives for hard-to-heal wounds and evidence-based practices used in nursing care, wound and stoma care.
