Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to equip nursing students with the skills to apply systematic history taking and basic physical examination techniques to assess an individual's health status in accordance with accurate, safe, and ethical principles.

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 This document explains the role and responsibilities of nurses in health assessment within a professional, ethical, and patient safety framework.
2 It collects and records subjective data by systematically gathering a medical history from the individual, using effective communication techniques.
3 It obtains objective data accurately using basic physical examination techniques.
4 Performs and interprets general health assessments and anthropometric measurements in accordance with standards.
5 It evaluates the skin and skin appendages for normal and abnormal findings.
6 The examination of the head and neck, breast, and axilla regions is performed using a systematic approach.
7 The respiratory and cardiovascular system examination is performed in accordance with basic physical examination principles.
8 The abdominal examination is performed in the following order: inspection, auscultation, percussion, and palpation.
9 The musculoskeletal and neurological systems are examined according to basic assessment criteria.
10 It integrates basic interpretations of laboratory findings (complete blood count) into the health assessment process.
