Objectives of the Course
|
The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the communication process and effective communication skills, to support them in establishing effective communication with children, families, and professionals in educational settings, and to provide knowledge about the fundamental principles, legal regulations, and practices related to children's rights and child protection. The course also aims to develop students’ ability to evaluate situations involving violations of children's rights and to propose solutions based on a rights-based approach.

Course Content
|
This course covers the definition of communication, the communication process and communication models, effective communication skills, speaking and listening skills, communication barriers, conflict management, and professional communication in educational settings. In addition, the historical development of human rights and children's rights, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, violations of children's rights, child neglect and abuse, legal procedures for child protection, and practices supporting children's rights in educational environments are examined.
