Objectives of the Course The aim is to introduce the educational models and approaches used in preschool education; to train professionals who can compare these models in terms of their basic principles, the role of the teacher, and the educational process, and who can plan activities appropriate to the developmental characteristics of children.
Course Content The fundamental characteristics of preschool education models and approaches; Montessori, Reggio Emilia, High Scope, Waldorf, Bank Street, Head Start, Project-Based, and PYP approaches; a comparison of the basic principles of these educational models, the role of the teacher, and the educational processes; and the examination, planning, and evaluation of activities appropriate to children's developmental characteristics.
