Objectives of the Course
|
To explain the structures and operating principles of Alternating Current (AC) machines. To make calculations for different operating modes of asynchronous and synchronous machines, to select the machine to be used in relevant applications. To explain the structures, features, operating principles and areas of use of single-phase asynchronous motors, universal motors, repulsion motors, reluctance motors, hysteresis motors, stepping motors, brushless DC motors, switched reluctance motors and servo motors.

Structure and working principle of asynchronous machines, rotating field speed, slip, structure and design of single-phase and three-phase ASM windings, emf calculation in ASMs, obtaining equivalent circuit parameters of ASM motor, power, torque, efficiency, starting methods in asynchronous motors, speed regulation methods, operating modes, types of single-phase asynchronous motors, usage areas, structure of synchronous machines, working principle, equivalent circuit, starting methods, speed methods, usage areas, power, losses and efficiency in synchronous machines, three-phase synchronous generators structures, working principles, emf obtained in synchronous generators, excitation of synchronous generators, voltage regulation. Single-phase asynchronous motors, universal motors, repulsive motors, reluctance motors, hysteresis motors, stepper motors, brushless DC motors, switched reluctance motors and servo motors
