Objectives of the Course This course will benefit students in learning the basic points to be considered in the measurement and evaluation process, the basic concepts of measurement and evaluation, the measurement tools (tests, scales, inventories, batteries) used predominantly in clinical psychology, the general structure of psychological tests, and the purposes and areas of application. Class discussions, test-scale applications and evaluations are at the center of the course learning experience.
Course Content The necessity, purpose and structure of measurement and evaluation in clinical psychology, basic concepts related to measurement and evaluation, purposes and areas of use of psychological tests, the concept of personality and tests measuring personality, objective (MMPI, Beck Depression Inventory, Beck Anxiety Scale etc.) and projective tests (Rosrschach, Beier Sentence Completion etc.) will be emphasized.

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Explains the importance of measurement and evaluation in psychology. Knows the basic concepts of measurement and evaluation. Explains how to use measurement and evaluation in psychological phenomena.
2 Knows the basic structure of the measurement and evaluation process. Evaluates professional and ethical issues to be considered.
3 Knows the purposes, areas of use and characteristics of basic tests used in sub-fields of psychology. Evaluates tests according to their area of ??use and evaluates the use of tests in terms of clinical decision making.
4 Knows the characteristics of frequently used tests in clinical practice, their application and interpretation stages. Distinguishes between objective and projective tests.
