Objectives of the Course Describing sports physiotherapy, physical fitness test batteries for different groups, sports injuries and soft tissue injuries healing process, comprehending measurement and evaluation techniques in sports and sports injuries and also basic principles related to the treatment techniques and reflecting these comprehensions to the applications, development of clinical problem solving after sport injuries in sports physiotherapy area and providing athletes to safely return to the sport activities.
Course Content In this course; sports physiotherapist in the world and in Turkey, the definition of the sports physiotherapist, the duties and responsibilities of the sports physiotherapist, the competencies of the sports physiotherapist in sports injuries, the principles of organizing the rehabilitation program of the patient with sports injury, recovery phases according to the structures after athlete injury (tendon, ligament, muscle, bone , cartilage, peripheral nerve), classification of sports injuries according to structures, evaluation of athletes, definition of physical fitness, physical fitness tests applied to athletes, prevention of sports injuries, physiotherapy and rehabilitation (first aid, field evaluation and treatment) after sports injuries, upper extremity injuries in athletes, planning physiotherapy and rehabilitation program for upper extremity injuries in athletes, lower extremity injuries in athletes, planning physiotherapy and rehabilitation program for lower extremity injuries in athletes, return to sports criteria for athletes after sports injuries, Planning and applying the functional rehabilitation program required for return to sports in accordance with the needs of the athlete, functional progression tests, and functional tests subjects are included.
