Objectives of the Course It is aimed that the students learn how to plan the menu of the meals to be given to the children within the framework of the education program given in the pre-school institutions.
Course Content Importance of mother-child nutrition, Macro nutrients, definition of vitamins and minerals, their functions in the body, sources, amount of requirements, Importance of adequate and balanced nutrition of individuals of various ages and conditions in terms of public health, Nutrition during pregnancy and lactation, Energy and lactation required by pregnancy and lactation. Need for nutrients, Starting breastfeeding, breastfeeding technique - characteristics of breast milk, Time to start giving additional nutrients to the child, types, amounts, rules to be considered in preparation, Nutritional characteristics, energy and nutrient needs of preschool children, Menu planning for children.

1 Learn about the nutritional needs of pregnant and lactating women, newborns, infants, preschoolers and school-age children.
2 Learn the importance and sources of energy, macronutrients and micronutrients in maternal and child nutrition
3 Learns the problems related to nutrition in these periods and develops solution suggestions
4 Learns and trains the issues that need to be considered in nutrition education for these groups
5 Learn to give complementary foods at the appropriate time and amount
