Objectives of the Course Teaches the methods of Computer Integrated Manufacturing
Course Content General structure and coding systems of CNC capstan lathe and milling machines, preparations before programming at the CNC capstan lathe and milling machines, the programming of CNC
capstan lathe and milling machines. The place of robots in computer aided manufacturing, introduction to programming Robots with COSIMIR, programming Robots with COSIMIR, the
communication between the Robot and the PLC, control of external data with a Robot, the programming of a Robot and its application, application with a Robot and CNC, fast prototyping and
measuring with Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Understands the fundamental principles, software, and hardware of CAM systems and can apply this knowledge to manufacturing processes.
2 Learns to transfer CAD data into CAM software and to write programs with appropriate G/M codes for CNC machines.
3 Can apply toolpath creation techniques.
4 Can simulate the manufacturing process using CAM software and identify and resolve potential error.
