Objectives of the Course The aim of the course is to give basic information about the relationship between ecology and sustainability concepts with human and environment, to examine the relationship between human-environment-design within the discussions of the interior architecture profession, to comprehend the social responsibility and importance of the interior architecture profession in terms of human and environment, to gain the ability to examine the studies and transfer them to their designs.
Course Content Course content; environmental awareness, global warming, climate change, environment, ecosystem and basic concepts, causes and consequences of environmental problems, human-environment interaction, environmental ethics, human-environment interaction, human-environment interaction, human and environment relationship; ibn haldun and montesquieu, ecology-sustainability concepts and interior architecture relationship, evaluation ofsustainable design factors in terms of interior space, ecological and sustainable building materials, ecological and sustainable interior design examples.
Course Methods and Techniques Ppt by supporting the theoretical information compiled from sources with examples. Presentation
Theoretical discussions in class. Application of what they have learnt with homework.

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Gains knowledge of the basic concepts of environment and environmental ethics, in this context, learns the relationship between human and environment; environmental protection, sustainability, the impact of the built environment on human experience, behaviour and performance
2 Analyses the effects of the concept of geography on the natural-built environment and its effects on satisfaction (happiness), behaviour and performance in human experience, and its contribution to professional thinking skills in terms of environment-human.
3 Gains the ability to think about the concepts of ecology, human and environment at a design-oriented relational level.
4 In the context of ecological, personal, professional and social responsibility areas, human factors, ergonomics and universal design principles are applied in interior design solutions.
5 Gaining an ecological design perspective, analysing and synthesising human perception and behaviour, using the obtained information in design solutions.
