Objectives of the Course To inform students about the basic concepts of aesthetics, the concept of aesthetics in the historical process, to gain the ability to question and evaluate by creating a discussion environment on basic concepts such as aesthetics, art, artist, work of art.
Course Content Course content; definition of aesthetics and introduction to concepts related to aesthetics, general information about aesthetics; art concepts, aesthetic subject and aesthetic attitude, art theories, aesthetics, philosophy of art, art, society, science and philosophy, aesthetics and art theories, aesthetics and philosophy of art in ancient and medieval times, aesthetics and philosophy of art in ancient and medieval times, aesthetics and philosophy of art, 17. and 18th century art and aesthetic understanding, contemporary art and aesthetic understanding, aesthetic modernism and art movements, the place of aesthetics in contemporary art practices, art and postmodernism, design and aesthetics, aesthetics in architecture.
Course Methods and Techniques .Ppt by supporting the theoretical information compiled from sources with examples. Presentation, face-to-face discussion on the subject.
Reinforcing the course topics with homework.

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 To be able to discuss aesthetic problems such as beauty, aesthetic properties, aesthetic experience, aesthetic attitude and aesthetic judgement, and to use knowledge about art to shed light on design solutions.
2 To be able to examine the subjects of Aesthetics, Philosophy of Art, Art, Society, Science and Philosophy, to analyse human perception and behaviour, to use the synthesised information in design solutions.
3 To be able to express design solutions and projects for different audiences and purposes using various visual communication methods and tools by evaluating the ideas of thinkers in terms of philosophy of art and aesthetic history in historical context.
4 To be able to analyse art and design products on the scale of aesthetic values, to use the knowledge of art to shed light on design solutions.
