Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to give basic information about interior textiles within the framework of interior space-textile interaction, textile usage areas and importance in interior space, to gain the ability to select, design and apply interior textile materials suitable for interior space.
Course Content Course Content; textile-space relationship, definition of interior textiles, interior textiles, historical development of interior textiles, definition of textile, definition of fibre and general properties, fibre classification and usage areas in interior spaces, textile surfaces and properties, fabric types used in interior textiles, upholstery fabrics, technical properties and classification according to usage areas and selection suitable for the space, textile wall coverings used in interior spaces, properties, usage areas and curtain types, properties and selection suitable for the space, other interior textile products and their properties, textile floor coverings used in interior space, their properties and selection suitable for the space, technical textiles and smart textiles used in interior space, the concept of colour in interior textile products and colour psychology in interior space, colour, pattern, texture and form relationship in interior textiles, textile use and textile designers according to art movements in interior design, trends in interior textiles, selection of textile materials used in interior space in accordance with the space, textile application in interior design.
Course Methods and Techniques Ppt by supporting the theoretical information compiled from sources with examples. Presentation, face-to-face discussion on the subject.

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Gains knowledge of how interior textiles support the design purpose within the framework of interior space-textile interaction, textile usage areas and importance in interior space.
2 Analyses textile products that will support the design purpose in terms of structural properties, usage areas, aesthetic properties, functional properties of interior textiles as materials with innovative and sustainable ideas.
3 Selects textile materials suitable for human and environmental health for the function, place of use and purpose of the space in interior projects.
4 Selects and applies textile materials with interdisciplinary co-operation, taking into account factors such as comfort, environmental, health, cost of use, etc. in interior projects.
