Objectives of the Course To provide students with drawing skills that comply with professional standards by developing their ability to communicate with effective and understandable drawings in project design and presentations.
Course Content The course aims to provide students with technical drawing skills and develop their ability to communicate effectively. At the beginning of the course, basic information is provided about the definition and importance of technical drawing, drawing tools and materials, as well as drawing rules and standards. This information enables students to communicate accurately and clearly in technical drawings. Then, the focus is on correct drawing techniques, preparation of the drawing surface, and ensuring accuracy in drawings. Basic concepts such as drawing types and views, differences between two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) drawings, plan, section, and elevation drawings are emphasized. Dimensioning and notation issues, giving accurate measurements in drawings, and using explanatory notations are critical for effective communication in technical drawings. In addition, applications such as preparation and presentation of detailed drawings and scaling techniques are also covered. The use of technical drawings in projects, interior design, and how to apply effective communication strategies in architectural projects are also covered comprehensively. The course is supported by practical drawing studies; through simple project drawings, exercises, and group projects, students develop their skills to communicate clearly and understandably in technical drawings. Finally, during the course evaluation process, drawing assignments are reviewed, feedback is provided, and recommendations are made to help students improve their effective communication skills through technical drawing. This content aims to systematically develop students' ability to communicate effectively in both technical drawing and project presentations.
