Objectives of the Course .The aim is to provide students with the ability to design and present a concept and functionalization of an existing residential space, taking into account the relationship between the user and the space in a different cultural environment.
Course Content .Students are expected to analyze the possibilities and limits of the determined areas (the given area should be evaluated as a place outside of Turkey, and different cultures, geography and climate should be taken into consideration in the scenario to be created) and determine the current situation with sketches and models. They should determine the spatial and functional requirements by conducting in-depth research on the design problem. In the first stage of the design, the user profile is defined; a scenario is expected to be prepared by considering the socio-cultural and economic characteristics, daily routines and requirements of the user profile. The user(s) profile will be effective in shaping the design concept/concept. The design concept/concept and the possibilities offered by the house will be determined after the student's in-depth research on the subject. It reflects the design idea to the physical environment with form, material, color, texture and furniture applications; it gives meaning and originality to the space. It prepares the interior solutions for the house with 1/100, 1/50 and 1/20 scale architectural drawings, perspectives and a working model for the final presentation.
Course Methods and Techniques Ppt. Presentation and face-to-face evaluation, examination of files, sketches and 3D models.
