Objectives of the Course It is aimed to introduce students to architectural building elements and structural solutions, and to provide them with information on appropriate material and detail relationships and interior space applications.
Course Content General information about the structure is given; structural elements such as foundation, wall, floor are introduced. Materials and construction techniques are explained through masonry and skeleton carrier systems. Fine structure components, finishing materials and door and window detail solutions are discussed. In-class applications are made in parallel with weekly course topics. Students develop the schematic plan given to them at the beginning of the term in line with the weekly topics and submit it according to basic building knowledge criteria.
