Objectives of the Course To provide students with the ability of measuring techniques necessary to transfer the project of the existing modern and historical building to the paper.
Course Content The content of the course includes measurement of modern and historical buildings, introduction of traditional and optical surveying techniques, explanation of traditional surveying methods, drawing zero line, triangulation, creating plan section and elevation surveys and preparation of restoration project.

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Learns the basic techniques necessary to document a historical or existing building and prepare a restoration project.
2 Analyses the project of a historical or modern existing building with surveying techniques at national and international scale.
3 Draws the project of a historical or modern existing building with surveying techniques in accordance with the regulations and legislation.
4 Organises his/her work by paying attention to the character of the period, technical equipment systems and the structure of the building while documenting a historical or existing building and preparing the restoration project.
5 Gains team work skills.
