Type of Program Formal Education
Type of Course Unit Compulsory
Course Delivery Method Face To Face
Objectives of the Course To provide the skills to create original, aesthetic, ergonomic and sustainable furniture designs by taking into account the unity of technology, materials and technical knowledge in the design and production processes.
Course Content Within the scope of the course, the process of creating furniture designs belonging to a selected product group (work unit, urban furniture, children's furniture) based on a concept, emotion, or nature reference is examined with in-class theoretical discussions, sketch studies, and critiques.
Artificial intelligence and computer-aided programs are used in designing the intellectual process, making sketch studies, and creating formal equivalents of the references taken as starting points.
Sketch studies, artificial intelligence-aided studies, and in-class critiques are carried out to make decisions on the material, color, texture, and form of the designs and to define their functions.
1/10, 1/5 scale technical drawings and 1/2, 1/1 scale connection, structure, and detail drawings are made for furniture designs. The resulting furniture designs are presented on an A0 sheet containing scaled technical drawings and visual representations.
