Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Through the basic principles of media literacy, the definition of the media, media types and all the tools included in the media types gain the ability to distinguish from each other and classify them under the relevant category.
2 Define the concept of media ownership and understand the importance of media in propaganda and persuasion.
3 Can evaluate the relationship between media and culture through the concepts of representation, diversity, discrimination and prejudices.
4 Understands the ethical use of the media, ethical violations in the media and moral behaviour in the media.
5 In the context of social media literacy, learns to analyse fake news, which is a current problem in the context of social media literacy, and to analyse them with a critical eye.
