Objectives of the Course This course aims to provide students with the knowledge necessary to transform their work—developed in line with their intended field of study and career goals—into a portfolio by adhering to established formats, components, and techniques specific to portfolio preparation.
Within this framework, presentation techniques required for both portfolio development and various professional contexts are introduced, enabling students to develop effective presentation skills and to deliver presentations using both digital and physical tools. In addition, students are expected to gain an understanding of how their professional outputs can be structured into a coherent portfolio, how to access relevant information, how to compile and organize acquired data, and how to design presentations aligned with specific communicative purposes.
The course also aims to equip students with the ability to present their projects—whether term projects, theses, or smaller-scale in-class and extracurricular works—confidently in front of an audience. Furthermore, by introducing fundamental principles of project management commonly utilized across various professional fields, the course seeks to enable students to structure their presentations systematically and to reassess and refine their portfolios from a project-oriented perspective.
Course Content This course addresses the concept of portfolio both theoretically and practically, aiming to enable students to transform their work into effective portfolios. Portfolio preparation processes, e-portfolio usage, CV writing, and personal presentation techniques are examined.
The course also covers the use of multimedia in digital environments, as well as verbal and non-verbal communication elements, and the processes of preparing and delivering effective presentations. Within a project management framework, stages such as information gathering, organizing, and transforming content into presentations are practiced.
The course is completed through students presenting their portfolios and presentations in class, along with evaluation processes.
Course Methods and Techniques This course aims to provide students with the knowledge required to transform their work—prepared in alignment with specific goals and objectives—into a portfolio, in accordance with defined formats and components, and through the application of techniques unique to portfolio development.
The course is further supported by topics such as personal presentation, professional presentation, and project-based presentation, addressing how students can effectively present their portfolios, as well as how and from which sources they can gather and utilize information for their presentations.
