Objectives of the Course

To introduce prospective teachers to the perspective of different educational philosophies To introduce philosophical currents that affect Turkish education system.

Course Content

Basic issues and problem areas of philosophy; the philosophy of being, knowledge, morals / values and education; basic philosophical movements (idealism, realism, naturalism, empiricism, rationalism, pragmatism, existentialism, analytical philosophy) and education; educational philosophical currents (Perpetuity, fundamentalism, progressivism, redevelopment, existentialist education, critical education, etc.); The views of some philosophers in the Islamic world and the West (Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, J. Dewey, Ibn-i Sina, Farabi, J. J. Rousseau etc.); individual differences and education; education in terms of some political and economic ideologies; In Turkey, which is effective currents of thought; Philosophical foundations of Turkish education system, Atatürk's philosophy of education
